JUNIOR SPROCKETEERS RETURN TO THE TRACK IN VICTORIA

The SP Tools Junior Sprockets program returned to the track earlier this week.

Karting Australia’s Introductory program, the SP Tools Junior Sprockets, returned to the track earlier this week after a 12-month break enforced by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

More than 60 budding young drivers climbed aboard the Junior Sprockets karts across two days at the Oakleigh Go-Kart Racing Club and the Albury Wodonga Kart Racing Club.

Led by Karting Australia Junior Development Manager Troy Hunt, the Junior Sprockets beginners program sees the participants undertake an introduction into the sport of karting before learning the basics about kart control and driving techniques in a safe and controlled environment.

“It was fantastic to be able to get the Junior Sprockets program back on track after the Covid-enforced break with two sold out events at Oakleigh and Albury,” said Hunt.

“All of the kids came away with smiles on their faces after a great first experience of the sport and I look forward to seeing many of them on track at their local Club in the near future.”

All participants in the Junior Sprockets program receive a voucher to redeem a Karting Australia practice licence after completing the program.

In addition to the Junior Sprockets beginner program, a Junior Sprockets Plus session was also held at the Albury Wodonga Kart Club. The Junior Sprockets Plus program provided the opportunity for relatively new Karting Australia Licence holders to receive advice from Hunt and the Junior Sprockets instructors along with Supercar driver Macauley Jones.

Further SP Tools Junior Sprockets activities will be held throughout the remainder of 2021 with dates and venues to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
