With only 4 Karts being raced at the Victorian State Championships held at the Todd Rd circuit FA Alonso Kart performed like they were in another league.

Scott Simpson was first to hit the track for Friday’s Qualifying, setting the quickest time in Q1 only to end up 3rd in Q2. Scott managed a String of 2nd place positions in the heats and Pre Final Being edged out by Ben McKinlay to set himself up for a great position in the final.

The pair raced fiercely up until ½ race distance but McKinlay got a slight edge and Simpson was unable to bridge the gap and held on for 2nd Position.

Leopard Light was the next category to see the FA Victory 30mm kart out and in Qualifying proving to be too good with James Sera qualifying fastest with a Time of 41.007. Edging out rivals Adam Willison 41.167, Ian McDougall 41.170 and Deadly Dave Sera 41.229. James was 2nd in the 1st heat being edged out by his younger rival David Sera.

It was James though who won the 2nd heat race which put him on Pole for the Pre Final. In the Pre Final and Final James piloting his FA Alonso Kart could only manage 2nd position

Clubman Light was the Last class to hit the track, and in Fridays Q1 James Sera once again showed his speed in Clubman Light to take his FA Kart TS30 chassis to pole position with a 41.174, edging out his younger rival Dave Sera at 43.298. Jordan Ford was next quickest with a 43.305, then it was the young star, and Defending Victorian champion Chris Hays with a 43.362. James showed superior speed aboard the FA TS30 clubman kart to win all the heats, and the Pre Final.

The final was to be a different story as ½ way through the race, rain started to fall. As the race went on the rain got heavier and James lost the lead to Jordan Sanderson, who then ran off the track 1 corner later. Dave Sera then got into the lead with James following close behind, The rain stopped and the track started to dry, James made his move with around 7 laps to go and was never challenged for the lead again taking the win to Record his 21st State championship of his Career, and an Excellent result for the FA Alonso Kart winning its 1st state championship in its 2nd race meeting.

James Would like to thank the long time support from his Engine Builder Anthony Bartolo from J & A Tunning for the fastest clubman engines. His Mechanics, Andre and Nick, the FA Kart team and James Sera’s Karting Centre
