Bonjorno!

We have finally made it to the La Conca circuit in Muro Lecchese southern Italy, about 660klms south of Rome.

We are staying in the town of Otranto which is on the Adriatic sea, picture perfect , excellent pasta, pizza, vino and a terrific hotel, The Vittoria Spa and Resort, as our base for the next few days whilst we are racing.

The tension is building, the team visited the circuit yesterday, very exciting for all of us we are in awe of not only the size of the circuit but the facilities for this race meeting with driver and crew hospitality tents, restaurants, covered pit areas– no dirt here!!!!!!

James registered for Junior Max and received his racing number — 39. With all the relevant paper work in order James, Matthew and Scotty managed to get a couple of sessions in the hire karts they have at the circuit.
Having done some laps we now have an understanding of the circuit, this will assist James and the team enormously.

Today, Monday, has been a rest day for us staying away from the circuit today and just kicking our feet up having a bit of a look around the surrounds of Otranto.

We spent this afternoon in town relaxing, the town is buzzing with lots of people from all parts of the world dressed in racing shirts and jackets.

Tomorrow, Tuesday our time, we begin the journey, a lottery is held at the circuit where each driver is assigned a Go Kart ,Engine, Tyres for the duration of the meeting.

Once we receive our Kart and gear we will be preparing our Kart for the first practice session which is on Wednesday 10.00am our time which is Wednesday night Sydney time 8.00pm or Brisbane time 7.00pm.

All the Australians are pitting together, we are aiming to get the Aussie spirit going decorating the pit area with Australian flags — pictures to follow.

Our Team is both excited and nervous but can’t wait now get it on!!!!!!!!!!!!
