ALEXANDRA Whitley has learnt from her now annual trips to Lithgow in New South Wales to pack light.

She always seems to return with more than she came with.

The Rangeville kart driver has extended her outstanding run at the Combined Districts Kart Club’s nationally-recognised breast cancer support fundraiser by winning three trophies and two special pink kart plates.

Whitely took out the clubman light and senior national heavy classes at the female-only event and finished fourth in the senior national light category.

These performances saw the 19-year-old awarded the Nicole Franks Memorial Trophy for driver of the meet for the second time.

She has now won at the event for the past three years, including her first Nicole Franks Trophy back in 2011.

Her sister Victoria, previously won at the Central West NSW event so the family has a great track record in Lithgow.

So great is the success at the event, a proud Alexandra Whitley struggled to recall just how many trophies she had won at the event.

“I’ve got seven pink plates but other than that, I don’t know,” she said.

Other drivers looking to contest the event are aware of Whitley’s success in Lithgow.

“A month or two before a few of the girls ask me if I’m going and you just say maybe,” Whitley quipped.

The Toowoomba driver is planning to return to Lithgow later in the year for the New South Wales state championship.

She is also hoping to contest the Victorian state championship in Melbourne next month should financial backing eventuate.
