Vic Country Series this weekend in Horsham

Kart racers and their families from as far as Melbourne and Adelaide will be heading to Horsham for a big day of go-kart racing action this Sunday as the Wimmera Kart Racing Club will be hosts round four of the Victorian Country Series.

With in excess of 160 competitors set to line up for the event, the Victorian Country Series continues to the thrive.

The series caters for a wide variety of competitors from the youngsters in the Midget and Rookies categories to the 125 classes and more experienced in life, Clubman Over 40s.

For the drivers in the Midgets (aged 7-10), Rookies (aged 9-11) and Junior (aged 11-16) categories kart racing provides the opportunity for these youngsters the ability to learn a lot about driving techniques and car control well before they are old enough to obtain their road licence. For these kids the racing is all about having fun and learning a lot along the way, both on and off the race track.

On the other side of the fence this weekend will be seven-time Australian Champion and local Horsham resident Remo Luciani who will be assisting the club as the Grid Marshall.

“Horsham is a small community with a small club and everyone has to put in for these small clubs to survive so I am doing my bit to help the club,” said Luciani.

Entries are open until 8:00am Sunday morning.

Practice for this weekend’s opening round will be held on Saturday ahead of racing on Sunday.
