VEMME STRENGTHENS ITS ATTACK ON CIK STARS OF KARTING

Matt Wall will make his debut in a Vemme kart at Round Three of the CIK Stars of Karting Championship

Newly-formed Elite Kart Racing, Australian importer for the Vemme kart, have made a serious impression at the top level of Australian Karting during the opening two rounds of the CIK Stars of Karting series presented by Castrol EDGE.

Jordan Ford secured Pole Position at the opening round at Queensland’s Ipswich circuit in the highly-competitive KZ2 class aboard his Vemme chassis. Going into the third round that doubles as one of two home race meetings and also the Victorian championship, Vemme has added two of the biggest names in Australian karting to their lineup.

In the KZ2 category, Sunbury based Matthew Wall will make his debut alongside Ford in the Italian made chassis. Wall, a multiple State and National champion won the KZ2 title back in 2010 and is coming off a Pole Position at the last round at South Australia’s Bolivar Raceway.

“I’m looking forward to being able to positively contribute to the team’s future success,” said Wall.

“I’m not feeling any pressure and from what I have seen so far this year, I believe we can excel in the championship for the remaining rounds.”

Alongside Ford and Wall in the KZ2 ranks, 2002 Intercontinental A champion Luke May has made a switch to the Vemme chassis for Puckapunyal in the TAG 125 Heavy category. May is looking to defend his Victorian Title he won last year at Geelong and believes being aboard the Vemme chassis gives him the best opportunity.

“I came back to racing karts last year after a long layoff and thank Dom Albanese for getting me back in the seat. Karting is unlike any other sport and I am enjoying being back. Les Burdett has been instrumental in putting the Vemme deal together,” said May.

“I had a drive and was immediately impressed with how little steering input is required.  I think come Sunday on a CIK track this kart will really like the long laps, I’m excited for Round 3!”

Joining Luke May in TAG Heavy under the Vemme banner will be Pieter Faulkner and also Jayden Reid in his first race meeting off P plates in TAG Restricted light.

Round 3 of the CIK Stars of Karting series presented by Castrol Edge will be held on June 13-15 at Eastern Lions Karting Club in Puckapunyal Victoria.
