The Drivers entered in the 2012 CIK-FIA “U18” World Championship and Academy Trophy will not necessarily have to wait for the date and venue of the first event (6-8 July at Braga, Portugal) to discover their equipment. A supervised test session will take place on 2 and 3 June on the Friuli Venezia circuit (www.kart-fvg.com), which has quite recently been inspected by a CIK-FIA official in view of its homologation. This 1,200 metres track built not long ago is close to Venice (95 km) and boasts some of the ‘’touristic’’ assets of the nearby circuit of Jesolo: proximity of the sea and of the beaches, numerous hotel infrastructures and camping site very near. The complex, of a very good standing and very functional, is managed by Matteo Grassotto, a Driver who distinguished himself in the 1990’s, particularly in the Junior category (2nd in the 1994 CIK-FIA Rainbow Trophy for Cadets).
The U18 Drivers and Academicians will be able to train there on 2 and 3 June and to receive their chassis further to a lottery. It will be proceeded to the distribution and mounting of the equipment on Friday 1 June at the end of the day and in the morning of Saturday 2. Then track will subsequently be reserved for them for tests on Saturday afternoon and Sunday 3 until 13 hours. Parolin will obviously be present to supply free of charge its engines in U18 and its karts in the Academy and to lavish its advice to participants. The other exclusive suppliers for these competitions (LeCont for tyres and Panta for the E10 fuel) will also be there. The CIK-FIA will pitch its Paddock tents and seize this opportunity to hold a session of information for the attention of entered Drivers, Teams and chassis brands. These tests are facultative for the Drivers of these two competitions.
