All are V8 Supercar race drivers. But more than that – they all have been champions in the CIK Stars of Karting Series.
Add in other former CIK champions such as Neil McFadyen and Ryan Briscoe and it’s proved that karting is where future stars emerge.
The 2012 national series begins at Bolivar Raceway this weekend. Victorian Jake Spencer last year won the James Courtney Trophy and is back at Bolivar.
“It’s an amazing feeling to know that I’ve joined Mark Winterbottom and Jamie Whincup who have won this trophy before,” Spencer said.
