The fight for the Trans-West Insurance Brokers Manufacturer’s Cup in the CIK Stars of Karting Series looks set to go down to the wire during the final round of the 2012 series in Melbourne this weekend.
With the Manufacturer’s Cup points system based on the manufacturer’s top two drivers at each round in all three Pro categories, it is the Top Kart brand that currently leads the way entering this weekends final round.
The Italian-made chassis, imported into Australia by Kart 1 Racing, currently leads the way in two of the three Pro categories thanks to Kyle Ensbey and Cameron Hill. As a result, the Top Kart drivers have amassed 2403 points during the opening four rounds of the series.
Currently second in the standings, 90 points adrift of Top Kart, is the Remo Racing-led Kosmic brand.
The CRG brand is currently third in the standings (1492) ahead of Lenzo Kart (1409) with Intrepid (952) rounding out the top five in the standings.
