The December/January holiday edition of Kart Oz Magazine on sale today

PACKED WITH 116 PAGES OF FANTASTIC READING!

Welcome Australian Karters to the combined December/January holiday edition of KartOz Magazine. It’s another great month of karting action.

We’ve come to the end of another big year at KartOz, but, rather than being able to slow down and put our feet up, we’ve been as busy as ever bringing you all the big news from all the events around the country and the world.

First up is the Rotax World Grand Finals, in Italy. It’s been a long road for the ten Australian drivers that made the trip over, but remember that next year it could be your name we read about competing there… just get the results in the Pro Tour and at Rotax events and you could be on your way!

Speaking of the Rotax Pro Tour, we’ve got the full report from Pro Tour IV, the points from which already contribute to 2011’s rankings. Held at Newcastle, it was a great meet with plenty of familiar faces as well as some we haven’t seen up the front before. With the next Pro Tour event in January, you should already be in training if you want to be at the pointy end!

There was a pair of events for fans of shifter karts this month with the 2010 Horsepower Heaven as well as the Kalgoorlie Dash for Cash. Both featured Italian karter Roberto Toninelli, who crashed out in one event but did very well in the other… you’ll just have to read to find out which! The 2010 Horsepower Heaven was also the F100 Nationals, where an old karter proved that sometimes you don’t need new tricks to be ahead… just smooth driving and dedication to the sport.

From across the Tasman, we’ve got news from the New Zealand Championships. Held simultaneously in both the South and North Island, this blue ribbon event really proves the Kiwis have got karting sorted out over there – see the thousands of spectators at the Tauranga Street Race for proof!

This was also a sad month for karting, however, with the passing of Raymond Hart and Luigi ‘Gino’ Macaluso. Raymond in particular had a special place in the hearts and minds of Australian karters and we at KartOz wish his family our most sincere condolences on their loss. The New Zealand karting community, and indeed karting as a whole, has lost an icon.

Plus, as usual, we have heaps of race reports from around Australia and worldwide.

Look for the cover featuring Pierce Lehane who did Australia proud at the Rotax Max Challenge World Grand Finals finishing on the podium in Junior Max.

It’s well worth a read!
