Swift opportunity for Junior karters at Cooloola this weekend

Junior Kart racers competing in this weekend’s Harrington Doyle Racing – Race for Daniel event at the Cooloola Coast Kart Club have received an unexpected ‘swift’ boost.

Two competitors, aged between 14 and 16, will be rewarded with a test drive in a Racing Swift at the Norwell Driver Training Centre thanks to Trans Tasman Motorsport on February 12th.

Trans Tasman Motorsport are the category managers of the Australian Swift Series, which is a seven round series providing young drivers an affordable entry level into circuit racing and the next step in their motorsport career.

The series has been instigated in an attempt to create a long-term legacy in motorsport where there is an alternative pathway within the Australian professional motor racing industry that is more affordable and user friendly.

Entries for this weekend’s event have been received from as far North as Cairns down to Adelaide and Coffs Harbour. All competitors will go into the draw for fantastic prizes including a Junior Arrow rolling chassis Model X1J from Drew Price Engineering the manufacturers of Australian made racing kart chassis, plenty of Yamaha and Dunlop merchandise along with many other random prize draws from various generous sponsors.

The club will have karting trade sites and distributors at the event along with Street Empire’s road show on wheels, this semi trailer full of merchandise for sale including Racer Inc, Unit, Rampant and Jet Pilot clothing lines just to name a few.

Glenwood Jumping Castles and Amusements have also come on board bringing a jumping castle for the kids from 10am Saturday and Sunday.

The winners from the Gympie Times Go Kart Challenge will all take part in a lap of honour on Sunday between the pre final and final with an estimated time of 12pm and will then receive their prizes with the other winners of the Harrington Doyle Racing – Race For Daniel at presentations after the completion of racing on Sunday.

Practice for the Harrington Doyle Racing – Race for Daniel started today with racing to be contested from 9am both tomorrow and Sunday.

The Cooloola Coast Kart Club is located on Runge Road, Gympie.
