CRG Australia drivers have made a strong start to 2015 throughout the opening month of competition in Australian karting.

During the opening few events of the Australian karting season CRG drivers have shone brightly across the country.

One of the best results for the CRG brigade of drivers came at the opening Rotax Pro Tour event of 2015 at Melbourne’s Todd Road circuit across the Australia Day weekend.

It was at this event where both Rick Pringle and Nathan Williams found themselves on the top step of the podium in the Rotax Heavy and Mini Max classes respectively.  It was the second consecutive year that Pringle has been victorious at the event.

For Williams, he created history by becoming the winner of the inaugural event using the Rotax Mini Max engines.  The Victorian dominated the event after setting the fastest qualifying time and winning every race thereafter.

Jason Pringle added another Rotax Pro Tour podium to his collection with third place in DD2 while three-time Australian Champion Jason Hryniuk finished ninth in his debut in the class and New Zealander Aaron Cunningham finished tenth in DD2 Masters.  There were also some great improvements across the weekend by some of CRG Australia’s younger generation of drivers.

“It has been great to be able to start the year off with some great results for our drivers,” said CRG Australia’s Chris Dell.

“To have a pair of drivers win their respective classes, and have several others right in contention for podium results, at the Rotax Pro Tour continues from where we left off in 2014.

“The results are a reflection by the hard work put in by everyone in the CRG Australia team, both in the factory and at the race track – particularly Darren King and Mattia Madami.”

Numerous CRG drivers will be in attendance at this weekend’s eighth Annual Brian Farley Memorial in Sydney before the opening round of the Victorian Kart Championship in Geelong in two weeks time.  The focus will then turn towards the next event in the Rotax Pro Tour and the opening round of the Australian Kart Championship.
