Round 2 of the Australian Kart Championship has produced some solid results for the Ricciardo Kart Junior Team after Sunday’s finals at the Monarto circuit in South Australia. In the KZ2 class Brock Plumb powered his way to three top-five heat results before racing his way to a season best sixth in the Final. Unfortunately teammate Troy Loeskow left the KZ2 final with a DNF result. Making his debut for the Ricciardo Kart Junior Team, Austin Wells drove a solid weekend to finish with a top-20 result in the KA12 final.

Showing a consistent improvement throughout the heats, KF3 Ricciardo Kart Junior Team driver Lochie Hughes  posted a solid twelfth place in the final starting rear of the field in the 27 kart strong grid. Teammate Taine Venables produced quality runs all weekend though a small engine drama slowed his progress in the final. Fellow Ricciardo Kart pilot Harrison Hoey again showed great speed though engine dramas plagued his weekend.

“I am really proud of my drivers!” Michael Patrizi said. “They all put in 100% and showed great speed and improvements from Round 1. The Ricciardo Kart Junior Team is full of young drivers with little experience and every day we hit the circuit we are getting closer to that victory. Brock and Troy were super quick in KZ however we just missed that little bit in the final when they both had an incident. The step up of both Lochie and Taine’s performance from Round 1 was great and if this is the jumps we are taking then we look forward to the rest of the year.”
