WARWICK is where the karting action is this weekend for the Queensland State Championships and a young speedster will be in the thick of it on track.
Connor Smith is just one rookie from a big contingent of Gladstone Go Kart Club members competing at the titles and he’ll be up against a quality field of karters. But he reckons he’s got the speed and smarts to be right close to the podium.
“I’m hoping to finish in the top ten,” Smith said.
His form at Warwick is pretty good and the last time he raced there he achieved the second quickest time, so he’s confident of driving well.
