Second Kiwi to contest Australian Rotax Nationals -from Kartsport NZ

Aaron Cunningham

Aaron Cunningham will compete in the Rotax Nationals in Geelong this weekend.

A second Kiwi karter, Aucklander Aarron Cunningham, will join Palmerston North-born international Josh Hart at Australia’s Rotax Nationals meeting in Geelong, Victoria, this weekend.

Cunningham, 29, will contest the Rotax Max Heavy, and having now competed at the event four times, knows exactly what to expect.

“The reason I go over there,” he says, ” is that the standard and depth in the Rotax categories is really high. You have to be on the top of your game to beat the Aussies on their home turf.”

A former North Island Rotax Max Heavy class champion and current leader of the class points standings in the 2011 Right Karts Kartstars Rotax Max Challenge of New Zealand, Cunningham will join current Australian champion Simon Meyer and the Pringle brothers, Rick and Jason, in the works CRG team for the three-day event which has attracted a record 160+ entries.
