The world-famous city of Bundaberg is set for an influx of Australian karting’s best this weekend to crown winners of the Panelfab 2026 Queensland Kart Championship.
More than 250 drivers have entered across eleven classes to contest the blue-plate event, with Club volunteers and sponsors working hard to prepare the venue over the past few months.
The 767 metre, ten-turn track has a storied history, and local racer Ky Burke is keen to combine his local knowledge with the momentum gained from winning Tag125 Light at the recent shakedown event and his runner-up finish last weekend in X30 at Townsville for round three of the Penrite Australian Kart Championship.
“Bundy is an interesting track. You never really get a rest and it’s an older style track which calls for good tyre management too, so it will be great having 250 karts here and we’re looking forward to it!” he said.
Practice begins at 8:00am tomorrow (Friday July 10) with qualifying scheduled for 2:30pm, before heat racing commencing from 8.00am on Saturday ahead of the Championship Finals commencing from just after 11.00am on Sunday. Timing is available on Speedhive all throughout the weekend with streaming on the My Sport Live App or online at https://www.watchmysportlive.tv/
The Bundaberg Kart Club is located on University Drive, Bundaberg. Admission is free for spectators.
