REMINDER TO ALL COMPETITORS REGARDING PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES

The Australian Karting Association would like to remind all competitors of the Association’s prohibited substances in accordance with the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA).

If you are taking medication, it is advised for all competitors to consult the ‘Check Your Substances’ page on the ASADA website by clicking here(https://checksubstances.asada.gov.au/) or phone the ASADA Hotline on 13 000 ASADA (13 000 27232).

Athletes may at times need to use a prohibited medication to treat a legitimate medical condition. A Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) is an exemption that allows an athlete to use, for therapeutic use only, an otherwise prohibited substance or method (of administering a substance) which may be present during competition.

To download a TUE form in a pdf format please click here (Link:http://www.asdmac.gov.au/forms/TUE_application_100801.pdf)

The AKA advises all members to always tell your doctor that you are an athlete and that you are subject to doping control, and ask them to check substances before prescribing them to you.

We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to Elders past and present.
