ROUND 4 of the Darwin Karting Association began under some patchy clouds and bursts of sunshine at the Hidden Valley Karting complex on Saturday.
The midgies feasted as if it was the last supper, but for the assembled categories of racers, it was time to further tune for the upcoming Australian Titles in July.
All sections were again represented with a carburettor session initially to help dial in before greeting the timers with qualifying laps to determine starting positions.
Ryan Roman took overall honours in the Cadets section ahead of Keelan Edwards and Eloise Avery.
Kasey Fullwood had her colours lowered in the Rookies with Jordan Smith winning the class ahead of Fullwood and Thomas Lamb was third overall.
Despite messing up the new colour scheme in the carby warm- up session, Brodie Green continues to enjoy a purple patch in the absence of Bryce Fullwood in the Junior National Lights.
Green won the section ahead of Nathan Norman and Thomas Maxwell. Jake Smith held sway in the Junior National Heavy section with Kyle Wiseman second and Connor Luck third.
Michael Moore led home the Clubman Lights ahead of Kevin Norman and Denny Nott, while Royce Nott claimed the champagne in the Clubman Heavies, with Darren Chilton and Kial Hanson rounding out minor placings.
Kevin Ledwidge was seeing red after being turned around by Joshua Page in race one for the Tag 125 Light. David O’dowd kept a clean sheet to win the section. Next meeting is the May 19 Club Championship.
