Bundaberg teenager Ky Burke will be aiming high as the 2024 FIA Karting Academy Trophy gears up for its highly anticipated opening round in France this weekend.

Representing Australia on the international stage, Burke is poised to demonstrate his skills and compete against 50 of the world’s most promising young talents.

The FIA Karting Academy Trophy serves as a launching pad for aspiring kart racers, providing them with a platform to showcase their abilities on a global scale while competing in identical OTK-manufactured karts and engines on Maxxis tyres.

For Burke, this opportunity represents a significant milestone in his racing career. His journey to the FIA Karting Academy Trophy is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and unwavering passion for motorsport.

“I’m incredibly honoured to represent Australia in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy,” said Burke.

“This is a dream come true for me, and I’m determined to make the most of this opportunity. Competing against top-tier talent from around the globe will be a challenging but very exciting experience.

“I’ve spent a bit of time over the past few weeks watching videos and racing from previous events to get to know, I can’t wait to hit the track and give it my all.”

With a strong support behind him with multiple-time Australian Champion Cian Fothergill as his mechanic and Burke’s parents Scott and Britta as support crew, the Queenslander is well prepared for the challenge ahead.

The event also doubles as Round Two of the 2024 mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship for the OK and OK-Junior categories.  Burke’s fellow Australians Xavier Avramides, Lewis Francis, Dante Vinci and Brodie Norris will be competing in OK while William Calleja and James Anagnostiadis will fly the Aussie flag in OK-Junior.
