Australia’s Rotax Pro Tour will make its inaugural appearance at the Coffs Harbour Kart Racing Club this weekend on New South Wales’ central coast for the final round of the 2014 series.

Coffs local, Luke Collett will be part of the large Junior Max field and he admits it will be a tough challenge against some of Australia’s best young drivers. Collett affirms that the track will ensure close racing for the large fields.

“I’m feeling slightly nervous but also very excited to know that I’m going to be competing against some of the best junior drivers in the country. There is a lot of pressure put on me by the fact that this is my home track and I know it quite well. It should be a great weekend, there should be some very close racing, I’m really looking forward to it,” Collett said.

President of the Coffs Harbour Kart Club, Scott Hargans is overwhelmingly excited for the Rotax Pro Tour to be holding its final round of the season at the Coffs track, with the opportunity to display many of Australia’s best Karters to the local motorsport fans.

“The whole Coffs Harbour Kart Club are looking forward to having such a professional series host one of their rounds at our track. It will be great to be able to showcase some of the best drivers in the country to our local Coffs community. I personally would like to extend a huge welcome to everyone attending from interstate and overseas and hope you enjoy your stay,” Hargans said.

Managing Director of International Karting Distributors – the promoters of the Rotax Pro Tour – Ian Black is excited for the series to be making its first appearance in Coffs Harbour with the local atmosphere and lifestyle being sure to provide a great setting for the weekend’s event.

“The Coffs Harbour track is one that is always well looked after and I have to commend the club for their hard work that they put into every one of their race meetings. It will be a pleasure to have the Pro Tour at the track for the first time, the weather is always great there and the local town should provide some great entertainment for every one attending,” Black said.

Round seven and the final round of the 2014 Rotax Pro Tour takes place at Coffs Harbour, NSW from July 18-20.
