Australian and family-owned lubricants company Penrite has partnered with Karting Australia to become the naming rights sponsor for the Australian Kart Championship.
Currently celebrating 100 years, Penrite is a brand synonymous with the Australian automotive industry, both locally and internationally. The new partnership further reinforces Penrite’s long-standing commitment to Australian motorsport, supporting competitors from the grassroots level through to the professional ranks.
Regularly attracting more than 300 competitors from across Australia, New Zealand and Asia to each round, the Australian Kart Championship is the largest karting championship in the Southern Hemisphere and widely recognised as the premier development pathway for young racing drivers.
For Penrite Chief Executive Officer Toby Dymond, the Australian Kart Championship presents an ideal opportunity to strengthen the company’s connection with the next generation of motorsport talent.
“Penrite has always been passionate about supporting Australian motorsport at every level,” said Dymond.
“The Australian Kart Championship represents the foundation of the sport in this country, where young drivers begin their journey and develop the skills that can take them to the highest levels of racing. Through to the Penrite Racing Supercars team, we’re proud to support the pathway that karting provides.
“To have two graduates of the Championship competing as drivers in our Supercars Championship program further affirms the strength of that pathway, and we’re delighted to be partnering with Karting Australia.”
Karting Australia Chief Executive Officer Kelvin O’Reilly believes the partnership with such an iconic Australian brand further strengthens the championship’s position within the national motorsport landscape.
“To have Penrite as the naming rights partner of the Australian Kart Championship is a fantastic outcome for our sport,” said O’Reilly.
“Like outgoing Championship sponsor SP Tools before them, Penrite is a renowned Australian brand with an incredible history in motorsport, and their commitment to supporting competitors from grassroots through to the elite level aligns perfectly with the role the Australian Kart Championship plays in developing the next generation of drivers.”
The opening round of the 2026 Penrite Australian Kart Championship kicks off this weekend in Coffs Harbour with 321 drivers entered across eight classes, catering for competitors from as young as seven years old in Cadet 9 through to the fastest drivers in the KZ2 six-speed gearbox category.
The Coffs Harbour Kart Racing Club is located on Phil Hawthorne Drive, Coffs Harbour.
Racing will be broadcast across Saturday and Sunday from 12:30pm and 11:30am respectively on the 7plus platform via a Smart TV or the 7plus App.
