Eighteen lucky youngsters will get the opportunity to go behind the scenes and meet some of the stars of the V8 Supercars Championship during the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge in November.

Rich in history, this year’s Norton 360 Sandown Challenge (November 18-20) will once again bring back the memories for motorsport fans by showcasing a variety of unforgettable cars from the past.  And now with the involvement of the young karters, the next generation of Australian motorsport Stars will also be on show.

The 18 drivers, all of which will come from the Midgets and Rookies ranks of the Australian Karting Association, will spend the Friday morning having breakfast with the Stars, receive a personalised pit tour before taking to a reduced circuit aboard their karts in a demonstration for the assembled media.

“When we look at the current crop of V8 Supercar drivers there are only two of them that didn’t start their careers in karting, it’s definitely where the stars of the future are coming from,” said Shane Howard, V8 Supercars Acting CEO.

“It is going to be great to have them a part of such an iconic event at Sandown to truly represent the past, current and future of V8 Supercar racing.”
