GYMPIE kart racing star Harrison Oddie had a consistent weekend on the race track finishing second in all races including the final.

Oddie was competing in the Rookies B/C class against 22 other young drivers in the final but found himself up against Jack Bussey in a red hot kart.

Bussey took the lead from the start of the 18-lap final and drove away for an easy victory, leaving Oddie and Zane Goddard to battle it out for the minor placings.

The pair traded places during the final until Goddard passed Oddie with two laps to go.

On the last lap the Saint Patrick’s School student went underneath Goddard on the third corner, a tight hairpin bend to take back second spot.

But Goddard hadn’t finished and attacked Oddie on the last corner.

The pair was side by side up the main straight and Oddie took second spot by two centimetres. Oddie said he was happy with the second place but still wanted to have a chance of taking Bussey at the next race meeting in Bundaberg.
