NKC Teleconference Summary - January, 2012

The purpose of this memo is to circulate the outcomes and discussion items from the recent NKC Teleconference held earlier this week.

It has specifically been done in dot point to enable interested parties to quickly peruse the outcomes. Further information will be available through your state body.

• The AKA are researching the benefits of acquiring a suitable building to house the activities of the association. This will require a financial outlay as well as a commercial loan. A detailed proposal will be circulated to the NKC once available.
• Governance Model was discussed at length. A company limited by guarantee is the preferred option. A Sub Committee has been formed to seek the answers to specific questions and co-ordinate the progress. They have been given specific duties to perform before the next NKC meeting on February 21, 2012. As there is only one Governance model based on the above preferred option delegates have been asked to review this and to make themselves fully aware of its contents.
• The press release advising of the issues with the grinding of some Yamaha Clubman Barrels must be released.
• CMS participation rates will be issued quarterly.
• A national communications policy will be adopted.
• The NKC reconfirmed the preamble to the Senior Max and Leopard category that states these classes can only be permitted a maximum of 6 times in each state per calendar year. State Championships, Pro Tour, etc are included in these 6 meetings.
• The implementation date for the internal chamfer on the KT100J piston has been confirmed as being January 1, 2013.
• The track density chart has been amended.
• A National Cyber Bullying Policy has been adopted.
• Competitors and Officials are advised that they will need to check via the ADSA website that their medication is compliant with the policy and if not seek a TUE (Therapeutic Use Exemption).
