The North Shore Kart Club are trialing a new format for its Club Meeting later this month (March 31/April 1).
With karters pleading for more racing laps and shorter race days the Committee has elected to run a two day event with the Heavy categories on Saturday and Light, including round 1 of the Junior Clubman Challenge, on Sunday.
“We may be taking a bit of a risk in running a two day event in this format as it is a more expensive exercise but we want to give our club members a chance for more laps and also give them more value for their money,” said NSKC President Steve Parsons.
“We are very aware that our club members didn’t get to race as much last year as what they would have liked to, so this is a way of trying to give them more value for their money.
“You only need to look at the CIK Stars of Karting Series and the Rotax Pro Tour to see that our karters enjoy more racing laps, so we’re trying to emulate that at a club level.
“If this meeting proves successful then we would probably look to run more club rounds in this two day light/heavy or even 125/100 format. The club members will ultimately decide.”
The event will be also run as part of the Blacktown City Games 2012 promotion with special medals given out to all the winners.
