National Volunteer Week - Tracey Driscoll

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteers. From Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd May 2021, NVW will celebrate the significant contribution of Australia’s almost six million volunteers. Each year these volunteers dedicate over 600 million hours to help others.

Karting Australia Volunteer Tracey Driscoll

When asked what the most rewarding thing was about being a Karting Australia Official, it is easily the kids and seeing them have fun said Tracey.

Now calling Darwin home, Tracey can be found giving back in various roles across a race weekend from being a Clerk of course, Grid Marshal, the track safety officer and everything else in between and we can’t thank her enough for everything she does to keep the weeks turning within the Darwin Karting Association.

Highlights at the track are hard to pick for Tracey, but in 2019 at the first Club day of the season, Tracey remembers seeing all the brand-new cadet 9 kids arriving at the track for their first races, smiles beaming and that is something she will remember forever.

From everybody across Australia, thank you Tracey for everything you do for karting. Without Officials like you who devote endless hours back into the sport we all love, none of us would have a place to go and race.

Across the rest of the week, Karting Australia will shine some light on more of the backbones of our sport, from the Canteen, to technical, Officials and grounds keepers to show we thank them, and everything they do!
