Poor weather didn’t stop racegoers making the trek out to Glenburnie for Sunday’s Mount Gambier Karting Club meeting drivers donned their wet weather gear and put on their slicks for the days racing.
Drivers from Portland made the journey over which saw numbers boosted in nearly every class.
Strong winds and heavy downpours made racing interesting with drivers struggling to stay on track at times.
Last weekend saw some of Mount Gambier Karter’s travelling to Bolivar to participate in the Kennard’s Hire City of Adelaide Titles.
Shane Moreland won second place in the Rookies with Kirby Hillyer winning third place.
Callan Belmonte raced Junior National Light and came 6th out of 15 drivers.
The Clubman Over 40’s Challenge saw Glenn Henley placed 7th out of 10 drivers.
John Dankowski was the biggest winner of the day though taking out first place in the Clubman Super Heavy.
Portland held their July Club day last weekend also which saw Bronson Boult make the trek over the border. Bronson came first with Angus Hayden-Simpson second in Cadets.
Jamie Weston won the Senior National Light.
The countdown is on for the State Titles in November and this is going to be a huge event for the Mount Gambier Karting Club.
