MOTORSPORT UNITES FOR BUSHFIRE FUNDRAISING

Australia is in the grip of a bushfire tragedy and needs your help.

Harnessing the generosity of our wonderful global motorsport community including Motorsport Australia, Supercars, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, ANDRA, Speedway Australia, Motorcycling Australia and the FIA it is hoped to raise much needed funds for critical relief, recovery and support efforts.

Each Australian state government has established its own bushfire disaster appeal, with 100% of all donations being directed to support communities across the country.

Karting is a family sport that is conducted in all Australian States and Territories – most of which have been affected by this disaster. Given the scale of this disaster, you can choose to donate to the national appeal or to a state/territory of your choice.

To access each state’s appeal, please visit The Community Enterprise Foundation.

Furthermore, the Australian Red Cross and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal operate on a national footprint and are heavily involved in a range of charitable efforts.

  • Australian Red Cross
    • The Australian Red Cross provides support to fire-affected communities across Australia, offering a range of initiatives including emergency financial assistance packages and long-term recovery programs.
  • Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR)
    • The FRRR Disaster Resilience and Recovery Fund offers grants to support a variety of regional community needs, such as the rebuilding of vital community infrastructure and ensuring psychological support is available.

Wildlife

Our amazing wildlife has been devastated in huge numbers.

Wildlife carers and volunteers are doing amazing work to look after injured animals. Once the fires are gone, they will require funds to rebuild shelters and enclosures and regenerate native habitat. Most are state or region based but groups like Wires and the WWF are taking a national view of the crisis.

Below are several links to wildlife aligned charitable organisations for your further consideration:

  • Wires Wildlife Rescue
    • Donations to Wires are used for the rescue and treatment of injured wildlife in NSW. Wires CEO Leanne Taylor has advised that “The allocation of donations received by WIRES will be used to assist as many animals as possible across our nation – we can and will allocate funding and support to all states and territories where needed to assist animals affected by this crisis.”
  • Wildlife Victoria
    • Donations to Wildlife Victoria are distributed to wildlife shelters and carers to help rebuild enclosures and equipment lost in the fires.
  • RSPCA South Australia
    • Donations to RSPCA South Australia will assist them in preparing for long-term rescue and rehabilitation efforts of injured wildlife.
  • Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park
  • Donations to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park will assist in treating new koalas and fauna as they come in each day with pain relief, antibiotics as well as building new infrastructure to provide a new home for the wild animals as they are rehabilitated before they can be released back into the wild.

The bushfire risk in Australia is far from over and any support youcan provide will go a long way to help those in need.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
