The ART Grand Prix Karting Australia race team will be making its official race debut at Round 4 of the CIK Stars of Karting, held at Eastern Creek International Raceway (SYD, Australia) from the 26-28th of July.
We will be competing in TAG Light with our teams driver, Aaron Borg, and providing support to our customer in TAG-R Light.
On the outside it may have seemed very quiet for our operation, but we have been hard at work with the testing and development of the TS-01 senior chassis while also finishing our new purpose built Sydney based workshop for the entire karting operation (import, distribution and race team operations).
So far I can only praise the level of effort everyone from the Australian operation has put into this newly formed karting team, and I must also commend the ART GP factory team and customer teams in Italy, USA, Japan and Asia on their continued support for our team in its early days. We are very fortunate to have a direct link to such a great team, and we will continue to work together into the future to provide a top racing operation for Australian karters and also provide a gateway into overseas competition.
As for the chassis itself, we have tested it with Rotax and X30 engines both with much success. Overall we are very pleased with the performance of the kart out of the box (the brakes are awesome!) and the quality of the materials supplied by ART Grand Prix. As we are still developing the chassis we know there is still room for improvement, and our aim is to attend the key high profile races that remain for this year to learn as much as we can in regards to the chassis performance on different tyres and engines.
I would like to quickly thank the team sponsors: Rentcorp Hyundai Forklifts, Woodlands Beauty Spot, ART Grand Prix and Hurst Race Engines.
And also those providing assistance to our team: International Karting Distributors, Demon Tweeks UK, Fastech Racing USA, All Road Service, FreeM Racewear, FIJI Water, Australian Karting Association, KartX magazine, Kartsportnews, AutoAction magazine, North Shore Kart Club and Arai Helmet Europe.
We will have our karts on display in our allocated pit area, so for those who are attending the race please feel free to come over and check it out.
For those overseas or who cannot make it to the event we will have full coverage of our weekend on our newly formed website (launching next week) and up to date news on our teams facebook page and my personal Twitter account (@Duvashen45).
Best Regards
