Pierce Lehane and Joseph Burton-Harris once again flew the Australian flag high on the world stage last weekend when they contested the final round of the Euro Rotax Challenge in France.

Competing at the Salbris circuit, Lehane lined up with the Dan Holland Racing outfit in the Senior Rotax category while Burton-Harris paired with Australian Ben George under the R360 Europe banner.

The highlights for Lehane include a second fastest time during qualifying, along with winning a pair of his heat races. He also recorded a second placing in the pre-final to start the final from the outside of the front row.

After being shuffled back at the start of the final, Lehane showed some good speed to claw his way back to eighth place at the chequered flag.

For Burton-Harris, he had a number of challenging times across the weekend which started when he was excluded from qualifying for an incorrect sealing method on his engine. As a result, he had to start all of his heat races from the back of the field.

He suffered a further setback in one of his heat races when he was excluded for the swapping of his rear tyres from side to side, which is not allowed under the Series regulations.

Despite starting from the rear of the grid in the final, and being caught up in a turn one incident, Burton-Harris charged his way to 11th place at the finish.
