Karting to help Breast Cancer Foundation - from the Lithgow Mercury

THE Combined District Kart Club at Marrangaroo is conducting their annual “Pink Day” event to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The event will again be held at the Clyde Marshall Race Course (Oakey Forest Road at the back of the Lithgow Golf Club) this coming Saturday and Sunday.

As part of this event the Kart Clubs will be fund raising on Saturday with a Big Morning Tea starting at 10am.

In the evening a trivia night will be held.

These events are part of the clubs build up to the 2012 Ladies National Go Kart championships to be held in January.

It is the only kart meeting dedicated to female drivers in Australia and is held in Lithgow and the action in the past has been fast and furious.

In the past a number of Lithgow girls have tried their hand in the Celebrity Race with the likes of Linda Crowe, Mel Howarth and Brianna Carson all showing their skills and matching it with the other women riders.

It has always been a great day for spectators with go kart racing providing plenty of action from start to finish.

Persons wishing further information on the event can contact the club’s Publicity Officer Russell Grimson on 0409 785 720 or (02) 4722 6583.
