A mystery go-kart driver is putting himself and others in grave danger, zipping through traffic on one of the busiest roads in Sydney, Australia.
The National Karting Association in Australia has confirmed this driver isn’t one of theirs. The kart is a homemade creation.
Seven-time national champion Tony (Ed: Troy) Hunt couldn’t believe what he saw when show the video.
“It’s pretty incredible. It’s definitely scary and it’s something pretty stupid thing to do and certainly something we definitely don’t condone,” said Hunt.
Authorities are trying to figure out what drove this driver to take the kart out on a public road. The video was taken on Narellan Road, one of Sydney’s busiest and most dangerous.
The potential penalties are substantial if the driver is caught – a $1200 fine for driving an unregistered vehicle, $600 for not carrying insurance and $500 for not having a license – on top of the possible nine month jail sentence for dangerous driving.
