HONOURS AND AWARDS

Karting Australia has an Honours and Awards program to recognise outstanding contributions and achievements within the Australian Karting community.

In a significant move to immortalise unsung heroes and foster pride and camaraderie, Karting Australia proudly unveils its Honours and Awards program. Integrated into the Volunteer Management Framework and Strategic Plan, this initiative acknowledges individuals for their exceptional commitment, leadership, and passion, contributing significantly to Australian karting.

The program includes four distinguished honours – Life Membership, Lifetime Achievement Award, Impact on Karting Award and Service Award.

Nomination Requirements:

  1. Eligible Nominators: KA Directors, the CEO, and any Karting Australia member, including Individual and Life Members.
  2. Nominations are via the online form, detailing the nominee’s service and contributions.
  3. Nominations for Life Membership, the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Impact On Karting Award should be seconded by at least two Karting Australia members. Nominations for a Service Award require and single nominator.
  4. Submission deadline: 28 February each year.
  5. Include evidence of contributions to karting, such as CMS/KOMP records, media articles, photos, testimonies, or other relevant documents.

Karting Australia Life Membership
Life Membership is a prestigious Honour awarded by Karting Australia to individuals of good standing who have shown exceptional dedication and service to Australian karting. This distinguished recognition is reserved for the most meritorious members.

Criteria:

  1. Service Duration: Minimum 8 years of active involvement in Australian karting, showing significant, sustained service.
  2. Contribution: Demonstrable, lasting positive impact on the sport.
  3. Integrity: Consistent demonstration of honesty and adherence to Karting Australia’s values.
  4. Innovation: Proven commitment to karting’s growth, development, or enhancement in Australia.
  5. Leadership: Exemplary leadership and role model within the karting community.

Karting Australia Lifetime Achievement Award
The Karting Australia Lifetime Achievement Award, limited to one recipient annually, is the highest Honour bestowed by Karting Australia. It recognises an individual’s exceptional, long-standing contribution to Australian karting’s growth and management on a national scale. Nominees must demonstrate good standing, extensive service, notable accomplishments, and a significant impact on the sport.

Criteria:

  1. Service Duration: The nominee will have been actively involved in Australian karting for at least twelve (12) years showing sustained, significant service.
  2. Contribution: The nominee must have made profound, positive, enduring national-level impact on the sport.
  3. Integrity: The nominee must have always acted with honesty and integrity, and adherence to Karting Australia’s values.
  4. Innovation: The nominee has shown consistent dedication towards the growth, development, or enhancement of karting in Australia.
  5. Leadership: The nominee has shown exemplary leadership and has been a role model to others within the karting community.

Karting Australia Impact on Karting Award
The Karting Australia Impact on Karting Award, bestowed by the Board, Honours individuals of good standing who have significantly enhanced Australian karting through leadership, commitment, and passion. Recognising outstanding contributions and prolonged service in karting development and administration, nominees must demonstrate substantial positive impact, long-term dedication, and remarkable achievements at state or national levels.

Criteria

  1. Service Duration: The nominee will have been actively involved in Australian karting for at least ten (10) years, showing sustained, significant service.
  2. Contribution: The nominee must have made significant, positive, and enduring impact on the sport on a state and/or national basis.
  3. Integrity: The nominee must have always acted with honesty and integrity, and adherence to Karting Australia’s values.
  4. Innovation: The nominee has shown consistent dedication towards the growth, development, or enhancement of karting in Australia.
  5. Leadership: The nominee has shown exemplary leadership and has been a role model to others within the karting community.

Karting Australia Service Award
The Karting Australia Service Award recognises members with outstanding dedication to national-level karting. Eligible nominees demonstrate continual involvement in officiating, events, or activities, with awards granted at 5-year intervals, starting from 5 years up to 25 years.

Criteria

  1. Service Duration: The nominee should have been actively involved in karting in Australia for at least:
    – 5 years for the 5 Year Award;
    – 10 years for the 10 Year Award;
    – 15 years for the 15 Year Award;
    – 20 years for the 20 Year Award;
    – 25 years for the 25 Year Award,
    and have demonstrated sustained and significant service to the karting community.
  1. Contribution: The nominee must have made a positive impact on the sport at the national level.
  2. Integrity: The nominee must have always acted with honesty and integrity, and adherence to Karting Australia’s values.
  3. Innovation: The nominee has shown consistent dedication towards the growth, development, or enhancement of karting in Australia.
  4. Leadership: The nominee has shown leadership and has acted as a role model to others within the karting community.
