Karting Australia is pleased to announce a new partnership with globally renowned ignition specialist NGK Spark Plugs for the inaugural Penrite Australian Kart Championship Rising Star Award.
The new partnership will see the Penrite Australian Kart Championship connect with one of the most respected names in motorsport and automotive technology.
Karting Australia Chief Operating Officer Lee Hanatschek welcomed NGK Spark Plugs to the championship.
“We are delighted to welcome NGK Spark Plugs to the Penrite Australian Kart Championship.” Hanatschek said.

To have a globally recognised company such as NGK Spark Plugs supporting the championship is fantastic for our competitors and for the sport as a whole.”
The partnership further reinforces NGK Spark Plugs commitment to grassroots and elite-level motorsport, while providing increased visibility for the brand through one of Australia’s most prominent racing categories.
“NGK has a long and proud history in motorsport, and we are thrilled to extend that legacy to the grassroots level with the Australian Kart Championship. Supporting the Rising Star Award allows us to invest directly in the future of Australian racing and help nurture the next generation of champions.” says Racquelle Felices, Head of Marketing at NGK Spark Plugs.
The NGK Rising Star will be presented at the end-of-season Championship Gala Dinner in Adelaide, and will be awarded to either a Cadet, Junior or Senior driver deemed by senior officials to be a rising star based on standout results and personal performance.
The Penrite Australian Kart Championship heads to Townsville for the first time in its 11-year history this weekend, with practice on Thursday and Friday before qualifying and heats Saturday and Sunday.
