Kart race season ramps up at Hidden Valley – From the NT News

BEAUTIFUL dry season conditions, including a gentle breeze and low humidity were present for Round-5 of the 2012 DKA Club Championship at the Hidden Valley Kart complex on Saturday evening.

Racing continues to ramp up heading towards the NT Sprint Kart titles at the end of June, followed a week later by the Australian Titles, both being held in Darwin.

Harrison Avery had a dominant run in the Cadet section ahead of Keelan Edwards and Eloise Avery. Kale Quinlan, making his debut for the season in a brand new machine, took it up to Kasey Fullwood in the Rookie section and won the first heat, but was disqualified after his muffler came loose on the PCR rocket. Fullwood went on to win the class ahead of Jordan Smith and Lachlan Chilton.

Royce Nott was never headed in the TAG 125 Light’s to score a convincing round win ahead of Joshua Page and David O’dowd.

Local favourite Bryce Fullwood returned to racing in the Junior National Lights division fresh from campaigns in Western Australia and Queensland. Clearly the recent southern experience was beneficial, and he went on to win the Light’s section ahead of a rapidly improving Thomas Maxwell and Nathan Norman. Jake Smith continued his good form in the Junior National Heavies to win ahead of Kyle Wiseman and Connor Luck.

The charge of the light brigade in Clubman Lights saw Kevin Norman score a round victory ahead of Magdelaine Breed and Michael Moore while Royce Nott continued his dominance of Clubman Heavy, to outlast Darren Chilton and Kial Hanson.
