The Ipswich Kart Club will play host to the best karting drivers from all across the country this weekend when the second round of the 2026 Penrite Australian Kart Championship is contested.
While Australia’s best drivers will be in action, they will also be challenged by drivers from various parts of the Southern Hemisphere with competitors from New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, New Caledonia and Thailand lining up on the grid.
Following practice on Friday, the 337 drivers will line up for qualifying across the eight categories – that cater for a variety of age and engine variants – on Saturday morning. Heat races will then be contested throughout the day before continuing from 8am on Sunday morning.
The finals will begin from 11:30am on Sunday before the round winners will etch their names in Australian karting history alongside the likes of current Formula 1 driver Oscar Piastri, Supercars drivers Broc Feeney, Kai Allen and James Golding as a round winner in the prestigious Championship.
The action will be broadcast on 7plus from 12:30pm on Saturday and 11:30am on Sunday – which can be viewed on either the 7plus App or https://7plus.com.au/australian-kart-championship
