The dominance of Intrepid and its drivers was evident with the release of the updated Rotax Rankings and on the back of a convincing weekend of results at Pro Tour 4 in Warwick. The orange Intrepid chassis currently holds the majority of top spots in both Rotax Light and Rotax Heavy classes, performing better than any other kart brand.

Tyler Greenbury moves back into the top spot for Rotax Light following some sizzling form and a determination to stamp his mark on 2011. Victorian Josh De Maio is also a clear frontrunner at 2nd, confident of booking his spot at the World Finals with consistent results all year under the tutelage of Pete Cathcart at CC Racing. Brad Jenner at 6th on rankings is proving he will be a future contender with good form following a recent switch to the Intrepid chassis.

In Rotax Heavy the Intrepid boys of Paul Rodgers (2nd, CC Racing), Lane Moore (3rd, KAOS) and Troy Woolston (4th, CC Racing) are breathing down the neck of KAOS Karting / Arrow pilot Brendan Nelson who holds #1 by 799 points.

All the drivers are fighting to be the one that competes at the Rotax Max Challenge World Finals at Al Ain Raceway in Abu Dhabi in November, and whilst the top three drivers from Rotax Light win a spot only the best Rotax Heavy driver can go.

The last big chance to book points will be at the Rotax Nationals at Geelong on the first weekend of September.

This weekend Tyler Greenbury will be hoping his red-hot driving mojo will continue with a return to his Bolt Pro Racing sponsored KZ2 drive at the CIK Stars of Karting. He’ll be battling the ‘who’s who’ of the karting scene including the in-form Troy Woolston, who also had a great Pro Tour 4 and took first in Rotax Heavy.

In other exciting news for the chassis brand, Intrepid is developing an impressive Junior racers program with an awesome stable of young drivers coming through Cadets, Rookies and JMax. Assisting in the development of this program is South African race technician Ryan Pine.

Pine has been familiarising himself with Australian tracks after an extensive kartsport career working with many top drivers including world champion Wesleigh Orr, South African Rotax and Formula Ford champion Gerard Peters, DD2 specialist Ralph Ordendaal and a variety of respected international race teams.
His extensive Rotax, DD2 and Junior development experience has seen him attend 5 Rotax Max Challenge Finals and will make him a valuable future asset to the team and provide Intrepid an ongoing winning edge.
