THE RACE

KF2
6 of the 8 Parilla drivers qualify for the finals in this category (40 verified). The star of the show is Antonio Giovinazzi (Top Kart/Parilla). After the time trials he is 5th and in the heats he keeps the situation under control: he wins one heat and gets 3rd in the other two. In the prefinal he starts in 3rd position but quickly takes the lead, keeping the position to the end. Same happens in the final when he achieves a great win. Cucco Birel/Parilla) does very well in the time trials (6th) and the heats (8th overall, thanks to an excellent 2nd place), while he is delayed by penalties in the pre-final (13th) and the final (16th). The first part of the weekend was good also for the Gillard/Parilla duo: Tereshchenko (4th in a heat) and Runov (7th in a heat).

KF3
5 IAME drivers qualify for the finals. The three DR/Parilla drivers achieve a great performance. Nicklas Nielsen is 4th in the qualifying session and the fastest in all heats, he wins three and comes 2nd in the fourth ( best lap time in two heats). In the pre-final he starts in pole position and finishes the race in the lead, but in the final he drops to a anyhow good 3rd place. Mattia Vita is in 13th place after the heats, but a good recovery allows him to finish 7th in the pre-final and 6th in the final. Alice Brasseur is very fast in the heats (3rd, 6th, 3rd, 5th), but she finishes 15th in the final. Stupenkov (Gillard/Parilla) also performs well taking 6th place in the pre-final and the fastest lap time (9th in the final) and Pezzolla (Top Kart/Parilla) recovers from 15th to 9th place in the pre-final (finishing 10th in the final).

60 Mini
16 Parilla drivers out of a total of 70 participants. Luca Bottarelli (Maranello/Parilla) does well in the heats finishing 15th with best lap time in one heat: in the pre-final he is 6th and 11th in the final. Florescu Petruit (Top Kart/ Parilla) also puts on a good show in the heats, finishing 12th with best lap time.

THE COMMENT – IAME head Technical Engineer – ANDREA BOSSAGLIA
Andrea Bossaglia comments: “A very positive weekend where we also used new materials with different solutions. The wins by Giovinazzi and Nielsen were a huge boost in confidence for all the drivers and teams and an important confirmation that our hard work is starting to pay back. Congratulations, and see you in Braga and Zuera!“

THE ENGINES FOR YOUNGSTERS

IAME is now manufacturing two Parilla 60cc engines: the MiniSwift and the BabySwift, dedicated respectively to the Mini and Baby categories and matching with the 2010 regulations. The ignition system is equipped with a limiter which is set, respectively, at 14.000 and 11.000 rpm, and a substantial increase in performance at low and medium rpm has been obtained based on these figures.

As with the KF engines, the clutch rotor is matched with an aluminium alloy starter sprocket, with a bore of 41.8mm and a stroke of 43mm. The main components of the engine, such as the head, the cylinder, the piston, the driveshaft and the block have all been re-designed to guarantee top level performance.
