JOHN Grother, entering his 10th season of competitive kart racing, is taking it up a gear in 2011.
If his new kart is anything to go by, the chequered flags might be a blur if he’s the first over the finish lines.
While the wet weather has hampered the start of renovations to the Gladstone Kart Clubs track, this has allowed Grother to clock up laps in his new machine and get used to monstering the 50-plus horsepower six-speed beast around the track.
