After a busy start to the year the Grenfell kart club are again gearing up for the biggest race meeting on the clubs calendar, the annual Bob Hinde memorial & ‘festival of the kids’. June will bring an influx of people to town for the annual race meeting.

The club runs this meeting in memory of a gentleman who worked tirelessly with the club for many years. This meeting has rapidly grown, gaining a reputation as one of the best meets in NSW. This year we are please to welcome former local man, David Shaw and the team from Bar Up Bullbars based in Wagga as the major sponsor for this years running of the Bob Hinde Memorial. Bar Up Bullbars are the leading bullbar manufacturer in the Australian transport industry. David and the team have come on board to allow us to be the first club in Australia to offer a prize structure for this year’s Bob Hinde, that has previously only been offered by karting manufacturers.

The club will be offering two brand new Go Karts for two lucky winners to use for the karting season. These karts have been proudly sponsored by the Grenfell kart club, Bar Up Bullbars, Westlime, Arrow Karts and Kteq Rentals. With these prizes on offer this year, we are hoping to draw huge numbers of junior drivers from as far as Melbourne and Adelaide.

The club has seen numbers soar in the early part of the year, to make Grenfell one of the most attractive clubs in country NSW. The club will be undergoing many improvements during 2013.

We have already built a new club house incorporating Stewards, first aid and Storage rooms and the erection of a new Race control tower is underway. The plans for a permanent scales/ engine measuring shed are also being prepared.

These improvements now place the club in comparison with much bigger clubs like Sydney, Newcastle and Melbourne. As a club we are extremely proud of this effort.

Our next race meeting will be held on the first weekend in May. This meeting is used by many as a preparation meeting for the Bob Hinde Memorial to perfect kart setup and running.

Again we would like to welcome Dave Shaw and the rest of the team at Bar Up Bullbars on board to allow us to continue the growth of the most prestigious karting meet on Grenfell’s racing calendar.
