Gold Coast young gun Zane Goddard will be looking to back up from his strong first year performance in the Rotax Pro Tour and translate it to success in the open Junior Max category in 2014 as the second round of the rankings season takes place across the Australia Day long weekend in Melbourne.

Goddard impressed many throughout 2013, competing in events both around Australia aswell as overseas at the Las Vegas Supernationals in November, a race that is run on a constructed circuit around the car park of the Rio All Suites Hotel & Casino. Zane admits that the American event was one of his true highlights of the year and will prepare him well for his future in racing.

“The Las Vegas Supernationals were an amazing experience and I learnt so much while competing against the World’s best Junior Rotax drivers. Competing with Pserra Racing was incredible and I’d like to give Chris Schofield a big thanks for his constant support throughout this event and across the entire year,” Goddard said.

Currently sitting second in the Official Rotax rankings, Zane is looking forward to getting to the Todd Road event and securing strong results to help his push towards the 2014 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals as part of Team Australia. As one of over 40 entries in the Junior Max field in Melbourne, Goddard will be focussed on the need for consistency and clean racing to ensure he is in the best position possible for the all-important final race on Sunday afternoon.

“I can’t wait for the 2014 season to commence at Todd Road this weekend. It’s a long year however our goal is certainly to maintain a consistent good stream of results to help our points tally toward a potential campaign at the Rotax World Finals,” Goddard added.

G-Force Karting Team Principal, Matthew Greenbury is excited about the prospects of the 2014 season for Zane and credits much of his success to his determined and focussed nature on securing the best results possible and preparing himself properly for each event.

“Zane is always a pleasure to work with, his dedication to achieving good results is brilliant. Ever since he joined the G-Force Karting team his commitment has been incredible and he will certainly be able to take it up to the best drivers in his charge towards a seat at the 2014 Rotax World Finals,” Greenbury added.

Round two of the 2013/2014 Rotax Pro Tour takes place at the Todd Road Karting Complex, Port Melbourne, Victoria from January 24-26.
