FORMULA 100 NATIONALS/HORSEPOWER HEAVEN CANCELLED

The Horsepower Heaven/Formula 100 Nationals event scheduled to be hosted by the Go-Kart Club of Victoria this weekend at the Port Melbourne Karting Complex has been cancelled.

The cancellation is due to a lack of entry across all categories that were set to compete at the event.

“It is with sadness and regret that the Race Committee has had to make the decision to cancel the meeting due to lack of entries. We had monitored the CMS entry system right through to the bitter end and even waited for Monday’s mail for stragglers – all to no avail,” said Go-Kart Club of Victoria President John Wall.

“The decision to cancel had to be made as early as practical to prevent complete disarray to the interstate entrants, who obviously had plans in place to compete this weekend” he added.

“You can lead horses to water, but you can’t make them drink. We had advertised the meeting via several information and advertising outlets, but at the end of the day, karters have answered with their feet and possibly hip pockets. I would certainly hope it wasn’t a lack of apathy that killed the meeting. Even the support classes were lacking in entries”

Competitors who had entered the event will be provided with a full refund of their entry fee as soon as it can be processed by the club.

Any enquires should be directed to Lucas Burt on 0411 651 337.
