FALSE INFORMATION REGARDING EMAIL SECURITY AND POTENTIAL DATA BREACH

Karting Australia and Karting Australia (NSW) Inc have been made aware of the email sent today by Karting (NSW) Inc to all Officials, Karting (NSW) members and licence holders, KNSW State Officers and State Associations regarding an alleged potential data breach. The communication has also been posted on Karting (NSW)’s Facebook page.

Members are advised that there has been no data breach whatsoever and NO KNSW email addresses have been compromised.

The information contained in that communication is false, misleading, deceptive and defamatory of Karting Australia, Karting Australia (NSW) Inc and its Committee members.

NO CMS/licence email correspondence has been redirected to Karting Australia (NSW) Inc nor Karting Australia.

Karting NSW manage their own email accounts.

Neither Karting Australia nor Karting Australia (NSW) has any access to any emails other than those within it’s own organisation.

The Competitor Management System is operated on a dedicated secure server, which is completely separate from any emails or websites – Karting Australia or any other organisation.

There is no financial information stored by Karting Australia, or any other affiliated Karting Association or Club, all online transactions are managed by Securepay – an organisation owned by Australia Post.

There has been no change to anything in relation to the Karting Australia Competitor Management System, nor to any access rights.
