Entries are now open for the Karting Showdown to be held at the Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway on Saturday August 25.

The special event will feature the Junior National and Senior Clubman categories at a minimum weight of 130kg and 150kg respectively.

Entry for both categories is free with updated prizemoney as outlined above for both categories.

The first 40 entries that are confirmed will be eligible to take their place on the grid, with a maximum of 5 places being placed on a reserve list in order of entries received.

The Karting Showdown, to be contested following the day’s V8 Supercar action at the adjacent Sydney Motorsport Park, will see a grid of 40 drivers in each of the Junior National and Senior Clubman categories under lights.

The format will consist of one five minute practice/qualifying session, one pre-final (15 laps for Junior National, 20 laps for Clubman) and one final (15 laps for Junior National, 20 laps for Clubman).

Being held in conjunction with the event will be a Challenge between the Motosport Media and V8 Supercar Team Personnel.  Already confirmed as starters in this event are representatives from TeamVodafone, Brad Jones Racing, Tony D’Alberto Racing, Kelly Racing, Speedcafe.com, Auto Action, News Limited and SPEED TV.

Competitors looking to enter the event are required to place their entry via the AKA’s CM:S System.  The event can be found under the Eastern Creek Karts section of the drop down menu.
