KARTERS will use tomorrow’s Mount Isa Go-Kart Club round four races as a final chance to fine tune their machines ahead of next month’s 2012 Hilton Training Club Championships.

The Cadets class will be first to take to the track at Lagoon Park Raceway in round four, and Allisa Sidnell should prove to be one of the front runners.

Matthew Bishop, Anthony English, Lochlan Dew, Brianna Thirwall and Bradley Leonard will keep Sidnell on her toes in what will be an enthralling series of races.

Fresh from a third placing in Mackay, Rookies championship leader Paul Thirwall will begin as favourite but will be pushed hard by Jordan Dew and Anthony Rowsell.

After a tough battle in round three, Daniel Watt and Kailee Whitehead are set to once again go head-to-head in the Junior National Light class, with the racing expected to be very close.

Tag 100 should provide some of the closest racing of the round and championship leader Trevor Hollyman will be out to extend his margin on the 2012 ladder.

While Hollyman is the standout in the class this year, several drivers, including Mark Ezzy and John and Andrea Skinner, will be in contention to take the chequered flag tomorrow.

Clubman Light is shapin up as the “Battle of the Matthews”, with Matthew Rogers and Matthew Whitehead set to fight it out at the front of the pack.

With 14 starters expected to line up, Clubman Heavy will be the biggest field of the round and will provide lots of action for spectators at the raceway.

Anthony Leonard, one of the four new starters in the class, is expected to light up the timing sheets and will be keen to stamp his authority on the round against his more experienced rivals.

Clubman Super Heavy will feature the return of James Glasson and Clint Armstrong.

Both drivers will be working hard to break Travis Crowther’s stranglehold on the championship.

Racing starts tomorrow at 3pm at Lagoon Park Speedway, which is on Bendall Drive.
