Driver sets sights on top finish - from the Warwick Daily News

BRETT Sinkins will be satisfied with a top-five finish in the Rotax heavy class at this weekend’s Queensland Karting Championships which have attracted 392 drivers to Sandy Creek Raceway.

Sinkins hails from Warwick and has been a kart racer for the past decade.

He was second in his class at the Queensland Closed Championships at Sandy Creek last year and knows to win he will have to beat last year’s winner Brendan Nelson, a former Toowoomba driver, who now lives on the Gold Coast.

Gold Coast driver Lane Moore is the current New Zealand champion and Newcastle drag racer Simon Meyer the Australian champion, and both will be at Sandy Creek for qualifying on Friday and racing on Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.
