DICKER SIZZLES IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Sam Dicker has struck back in his quest for a third straight SP Tools Australian Kart Championship KZ2 Championship with a flawless three race win today in Murray Bridge, South Australia, while Liam Carr extended his KA2 Junior Championship lead with pole and three heat race wins.

West Australian Dicker had a shocking round number one in Melbourne but with today’s results will move himself up the standings from the ninth placing he entered the round.

Dylan Guest was solid through the day with a second and a pair of thirds, Josh Denton second in the opening heat race and at the back end of the day, Jac Preston got a handle on his machine to finish second in the third heat.

Carr led the premier junior Championship by a solitary point coming into the weekend however has been a dominant force setting the pole position this morning and subsequently winning the three heat races with consummate ease.

Round one winner Cooper Folley’s quest to keep the pressure on Carr started well with a second place, but ended the day with a fourth and was shuffled back to eighth in the final heat of the day. Hamish Campbell dropped from second placing on the points standings after a difficult day, finding trouble in the final heat and dropping down the order.

Queenslander, Jye Flynn has been incredibly consistent with top three finishes through all three heat races. His fellow Queenslander, Tyson McGill has been solid, scoring a third placed finish and Ky Burke ended his day with a second placing.

Last year’s Junior Champion, Isaac McNeill ended with a heat race win in X30, it could have been two, however a post race infringement after heat one dropped him two places handing the win to Brodie Whitmore. Pip Casabene, multiple X30 Australian Champion, Jace Matthews and Max Walton are well and truly in the mix as we head to the last two heats and Final tomorrow.

In KA3 Senior, Championship leader coming into the weekend Jett Adamson picked up where he left off winning the opening heat with Zac Heard advancing one position from second in heat one to the heat race win in the second.

Local driver, Jacob Dowson and New Zealander, Kiahn Burt shared the honours through the four group races held in TaG 125. They both won their heats. Australian Champion, Harrison Hoey and Championship leader, Jackson Souslin-Harlow ended their heats with second places, however in a carbon copy of round one, the rivals have yet to face each other.

Others to impress include Victorian, Amos Orr and Novocastrian, Oscar Priest.

There were three different winners in the group racing in KA3 Junior with South Australian Dominic Mercuri winning two heats and his fellow home-town racer Noah Enright gaining a win, along with Hudson Hughes. Townsville racer, Luke Nolan is having one of his best AKC rounds finishing within the top three during his races today.

Oliver Williamson got his Championship back on track with three wins in Cadet 12, Jude Ammoun got two wins and a DNF, while Jarvis Hindle won the other heat.

Jay Kostecki is among the front runners and certainly not out of calculation heading to tomorrow’s racing.

Ryder Xiong has entered the conversation for the Cadet 9 Championship with the full 38 points on offer today going the way of the Chinese born driver.

Milan Sami who entered the event as the Championship leader has continued his consistent run with top three finishes throughout the day and Felix Sim has continued to be solid, battling it out with Sami in the Championship fight.

Sunday’s action begins at the Monarto Karting Complex at 8am with the continuation of heat races with Finals due to begin at 12:15pm local time (12:45pm AEST). Entry to the event is free for spectators.
