After qualifying fastest on Saturday morning, Folley was victorious in all three heat races aboard his Patrizicorse BirelART entry in the KA2 class while Victorian Champion Michael White and third-generation New Zealand racer Tommy Hart were amongst his closest rivals.
Championship Leader Levi Doessel and local driver Jack Larsen also enjoyed solid runs inside the top five throughout the day.
In the KZ2 class, Toby Dvorak had a strong day while Lenzo Kart driver Luca Nici was also at the pointy end of the field. Championship leader Luca Auriemma was caught up in a start line incident dropping him down the order in the final heat of the day.
The Mills brothers, Aston and Emmerson, enjoyed victories in the Cadet 9 and KA3 Junior classes and are expected to figured prominently in Sunday’s finals. Victorian female racer Alana Gurney outpaced a stellar Cadet 12 field in qualifying before she was engaged in some titanic battles throughout the mix of heat races.
Another pair of brothers, Jace and Declan Matthews, steered their CXR FA Karts towards the front of the field in the X30 and KA3 Senior classes respectively while H-Sport Team Principal Harrison Hoey and Lenzo Kart’s Kiahn Burt showed they will again figure prominently during finals day in the TaG 125 category.
The Sun City Raceway is located at 233 Shaw Road, Bohle with free admission for spectators.
