Bryce fires for SA title
TERRITORY young gun Bryce Fullwood took out the South Australian gokart titles last weekend to continue his top form.
The 13- year- old outlasted some of the best karters in Australia to win the Junior National Light class after winning the West Australian titles in October.
Four current state championship winners were vying for the big win to finish off the 2011 national calendar. After a slow start in qualifying, Fullwood slowly made his way through the pack in the heats and pre- final and started the final off the third grid.
He made his way to the front three laps from the end ahead of champions Luke Marquis and Joshua Buggey. Marquis passed him a lap before the finish but Fullwood edged in front to seal the victory.
The win caps off a stellar year for Fullwood who moved up a class to Junior National Lights and won the Darwin Karting Association club championship this year.
Fellow Territorians Tom Maxwell was ninth in the Rookies, Royce Nott ninth in the Leopard Light and tenth in the Clubman Light, and Brett Jenkin was sixth in the Club Super Heavy class.
The new DKA season starts in April, and Darwin hosts the 50th Anniversary of the Australian National Championship at Hidden Valley in July.
