AUSTRALIAN KART CHAMPIONS CROWNED IN STYLE

The 2023 Australian Kart Champions were crowned in stylish fashion in front of more than 450 guests at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Sunday night.

In a celebration of the year’s achievements by all who were involved in the Championship, the Gala Awards Dinner saw not only the eight worthy champions recognised but also many other accolades presented.

More than $100,000 of prizes were shared amongst the winners with KZ2 Champion Sam Dicker one of the biggest winners, not only taking home the prestigious green plate but also $10,000 towards Karting Australia competition in 2024 and 300 litres of Panta Fuel. He also adds his name to the John Pizarro perpetual trophy.

Following his domination of the KA2 class throughout the year, Max Walton will receive a fully funded trip to the Rok International Final in Italy, as will Cadet 12 Champion Corey Carson and Runner-up Lana Flack, thanks to Vortex Engines and Australian importer Patrizicorse. Cadet 9 Champion Brock Nolan receives a Vortex Mini Rok engine as a reward for his achievement.

The placegetters of the X30, KA3 Senior and KA3 Junior Classes will share in $30,000 of IAME products courtesy of IAME Engines and Remo Racing while TaG 125 Champion Harrison Hoey will receive $5,000 towards Karting Australia competition during 2024

X30 Champion Jace Matthews was voted the LeCont Tyres Driver’s Driver of the Year while Riley Harrison and Lucas Loeskow received the Maxxis tyres Cadet of the Year and Most Improved Cadet Awards respectively.

Kart Republic secured the Manufacturers Championship for the first time in history while the Dave Sera-led Kart Class team secured the Teams Championship ahead of BirelART Australia and CXR Racing.

In the closest ever battle for the Event of the Year, it was the Tiger Kart Club that received the Award, narrowly ahead of the Ipswich Kart Club.

Parolin Australia’s Anthony Contarino was chosen as the SP Tools Mechanic of the Year.
